GREAT LAKES CHEESE CO INC Deviation Management Specialist in HIRAM, Ohio

Job Overview The Deviation Management Specialist will perform basic accounting activities and assume responsibility for maintenance of our deviated pricing related accounts. The Specialist prepares and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, which include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature. Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain deviated pricing programs from the Accounts Receivable side.
  • Responsible for making sure end customers provide accurate and timely reports.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies by interacting with various stakeholders, primarily sales representatives and customers.
  • Prepare customer remittance data for system uploads when necessary.
  • Coordinate the recovery of any invalid deduction.
  • Effectively communicate with management and external departments.
  • Post journal entries to the general ledger as necessary.
  • Support Deviation Management Analyst with other tasks as needed.
  • Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant pricing procedures and practices.
  • Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate revenue postings as required by Revenue Recognition Standard, ASU 606.
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administrations, or related field.
  • General understanding of Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three years of Accounts Receivable or related experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, trouble shoot, and problem solve.

Working Conditions Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35F to 100F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
