Intel Principal System Security Architect in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

The Systems Architecture and Engineering team is developing new secure solutions for multiple US government programs. These solutions will include derivatives from existing commercial products as well as the development of new and novel technologies and product architectures. If you have a strong interest in working on cutting-edge security solutions used in support of critical government and military programs, this is the team to join.

The Principal System Security Architect role will work with US Government customers to define future architectures and products to address national security needs. Candidates will be responsible for defining program objectives, generating proposals, leading execution teams, and delivering final products. The position will manage product/ POC needs and drive new technologies, such as chiplet design, secure interface definitions, package-level integrity protections, design validation, and overall supply chain security. This position will require cross division collaboration between various business units and organizations. Candidate will also have the opportunity to evaluate and collaborate with external companies as potential partners in solution development.

Responsibilities will include:

Drive security requirements for next generation, custom Intel products.

Develop long-term roadmaps for these features to minimize cost and maximize re-use across product lines

Align solutions with commercial product BUs to define waterfall intercepts of advanced technologies into commercial products

Work with business unit and engineering team architects to create straw-man proposals for system and security technologies

Coordinate multi-disciplinary, multi-division teams internal and external to the company to evaluate and evolve these features until they provide a clear value proposition for Intel or are documented and dropped.

Coordinate alignment of these features to product families in ensuring any required building blocks reach maturity on the required timelines

Coordinate demonstrations of new features using test chips and, as needed, custom test packaging

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 15 years in system design, security, and technical leadership

Strong knowledge of Intel processors and x86 architecture

Strong understanding of state-of-the-art security technologies, practices, and issues

Expertise in embedded systems hardware and software design

Platform hardware architectural expertise

Basic understanding of physical design and packaging of modern processors

Basic understanding of modern cryptographic algorithms with strong knowledge of usage of such algorithms

Understanding of modern hardware and software attacks, up to and including nation-state level capabilities

Experience working with USG customer and programs

Proven track record of managing and directing large government programs from inceptions to completion

Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States government customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions.

  • Active US Government Top Secret (TS) security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $186,760.00-$299,166.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
