Intel Datacenter Systems Architect in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

Intel's DACES team is seeking a “hands on” datacenter systems architect. Knowledge and experience in x86 server design, distributed systems, datacenter design, large datacenter networks, and machine learning accelerators is required. Knowledge of datacenter efficiency and TCO analysis is also required. Candidate should be able to define, develop, execute, and analyze tests to prove out architectural concepts.

The candidate will work in a multidisciplined team to define chassis, rack, and datacenter products at scale. The candidate will also define and execute architecture concepts, propose metrics and tests to validate concepts, and deploy at scale designs, feeding back data into the next architecture. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a broad, system-level understanding of data center systems, networking, Linux kernel, I/O technology, use of accelerators in the data center.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • System architecture, performance and Networking experience including developing& deploying distributed solutions.

  • Design of Xeon platforms.

  • Use and or design of Storage systems & Networkadapters.

  • C, C++, Python, or scripting development.

  • TCO analysis in datacenters.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Linux architecture (Kernel, userspace, and virtualization).

  • Communications protocols like Ethernet, IP, RDMA (RoCE).

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
