CANVAS Communications Network Analyst in HILL AFB, Utah

Job Title: Communications Network Analyst

Location: Hill AFB, UT - (On-Site)

Canvas is seeking a Communications Network Analyst! This position provides advisory services to the DoD.

This is a mid-level position located at Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), as part of the 719th Test Squadron under the 804th Test Group affiliated with Arnold Engineering Development Complex.

Duties:

  • Assess the network performance for the various systems.
  • Plans and executes testing of network designs in a physical and simulated environments.
  • Verifies operational configurations against best practices and government standards and regulations.
  • Advises network designs of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Maintains technical expertise in layer 2 and layer 3 concepts.
  • Act as Lead for the Left of Launch evaluation plan for the Lead Developmental Test & Evaluation Organization (LDTO).
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Provide technical support to the Sentinel Combined Test Force (CTF) LDTO in developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) activities for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) missile systems.
  • Support Sentinel developmental test efforts to assess performance against stated program requirements.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report through multiple program acquisition phases.
  • Support periodic reviews of integrated test results and test plan status.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support and advocate integrated approaches of engineering efforts and support of test activities for which existing guidelines may not be available or applicable.
  • Serve as a test participant in the development of documents such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Systems Test Plan (STP), Development Test (DT) Report, recommendation for IOT&E readiness, and other technical documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree; Master of Science degree desired. Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of communications and information security policies and practices.
  • Knowledge network and hardware and software interconnecting and interfacing, such as switches, routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways, etc.
  • Ability to conduct analysis to understand complex network architectures.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive positive impacts in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality.
  • Completed work meets project/program objectives.
  • Personal and organizational interactions exhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customers.
  • Verbal and written technical communications are clear, concise, and at appropriate level.
  • Utilize resources effectively to accomplish mission, including ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.

Desired Experience:

  • CCNP and CCIE or equivalent certifications
  • Knowledge of RF networks and Protocols
  • Familiarity with government networks and systems
  • Experience and interest in the development of large, complex, high-performing, sustainable, and secure network systems
  • Experience with building relations with technical-oriented stakeholders, defining p rocess, and interfacing with various enterprise stakeholders
  • Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies
  • Familia ity with test data analysis/evaluation, modeling and simulation, and technical report preparation
  • Experience with applications such as CAMEO Enterprise Architecture and IBM DOORS

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI security clearance.

Other Essential Job Functions: Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
