Fairview Health Services Medical Director - Urgent Care in Highland Park, Minnesota
Fairview Health Services is seeking a Medical Director for an exciting opportunity for a leadership role with M Health Fairview Clinic – Unscheduled Care team (Urgent Care and Virtual Care). The position’s overall leadership responsibility will focus on operational integration and lead the expansion of virtual care services. The provider will work a Full-Time role with a combination of 0.5 FTE clinical practice and 0.5 FTE leadership responsibilities . They will join our growing unscheduled care practice seeing patients at our eleven urgent care locations in the Minneapolis-St Paul area and surrounding suburbs. The opportunity offers a flexible schedule.
Day to day responsibilities will also include clinical quality improvement, medical staff development, provider engagement, representing Unscheduled Care in pertinent internal and external meetings and coordinating with site administrative teams on related matters.
The Medical Director will work closely with the Co-Medical Director and Clinic Administrator for Unscheduled Care to assure that systems and processes that support the patient/provider, the clinical encounter and the overall patient experience are performing at a high level of proficiency.
Management responsibility for core Urgent Care providers.
A team of 54 staffed urgent care providers and 84 Urgent Care moonlighting providers.
Patient encounters average 25-30 patients per day in an 10 hour shift.
No Call required.

Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine residency training program.
BC/BE with the ABMS or AOA.
Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required).
Minimal of five years’ experience in urgent care, primary care or ER.
Prior clinical leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and objectivity with collaborative work style.
Ability to lead by example and serve as a diplomat; mentor and motivator.
Strong communication skills; including verbal, written and listening.
Active in medical and patient communities.
