Job Location: Hershey, PA * Summary:* The Hershey Company Reese Campus is a Non-Union facility integrated by four Business Units: Peanut Butter, General Factory, Kit kat and the new Paste Processing BU: “Project Sunday”. The HR Manager Manufacturing is responsible for providing tactical support by leading the HR Generalist structure, being the Employee Relations on site leader and escalation point, driving the ER/labor peace strategy across the Reese Campus for hourly & salaried population. This role will also lead the HR path forward of the start-up of the new Paste Processing Business Unit. Continuing the work plan execution that guarantees a successful start-up and stabilization phase. This role will implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, building capabilities on leaders, workforce, and HR Generalist team, with the goal of positively impact the overall business performance and HR labor metrics. The position reports to Sr Mgr. HR Manufacturing for the Reese Campus and it is considered as back up of that role as well. * The main responsibilities include:* Employee Relations: * Owns the Employee Relations aspect of the plant by developing, executing, and maintaining an Employee Relations strategy that guarantee labor peace into the workplace. The above includes directly managing a business unit and/or support areas based on labor cases workload. * Ensures consistent application of policies and practices; assesses need/opportunity for work rule and policy changes; Offers guidance, direction, and training to management on administration of employee handbook and policy and disciplinary matters to ensure consistency across the Reese Campus. * Facilitates, recommends, and supports a consistent approach to business process and procedures. * Develops and maintains a positive employee relations strategy, ensuring a proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution and fair & equitable policy administration. * Conducts union vulnerability analysis and completes action plans as needed. * Ensures compliance with FMLA as well as consistent application of disciplinary actions and development of plans to reduce absenteeism. * Partners with Workers’ Compensation claims adjusters, internal and external legal resources, and Risk Management to effectively manage claims. * Contributes to human resource compliance efforts by ensuring guidelines and policies are consistent and enforced in the areas of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc. Project Management – Startup “Paste Processing” BU: * Ensures the ongoing execution of the HR Work plan and operating model. * Supports project implementation team, bringing HR leadership to make decisions and recommendations to meet organizational and business needs. * Tracks and develops plans to remove obstacles for success. * Supports the facilitation of the change management process. * Supports employee engagement planning process and administration. * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:* * Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and influence the decision making of management. * Ability to work collaboratively with and influence the plant leadership team. * Strong floor presence with the ability to understand the pulse of employee morale. * Demonstrated history of establishing and maintaining a successful management of Employee Relations. * Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations affecting the workplace * Ability to establishes & maintain constructive, positive working relationships (Relate well to individuals with diverse backgrounds, ability to provide an HR prospective, yet be open to the group’s point of view) * Results orientated (Complying with all laws and regulations; and maintaining focus on productivity and bottom-line results) * Strong problem solving and decision-making skills (Gather & analyze information, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative solutions to problem, & evaluate the consequences of each alternative) * Ability to facilitate training/learning in large group presentations. * Project Management. Ability to lead projects to completion. * Change Management * Ability to adapt to competing demands and shifting priorities. * Effective oral and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:* * Bachelor’s Degree required; concentration in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred. Master’s degree preferred * At least 3 years’ experience within Human Resources or related field, with employee groups of 350 or more people * Competent in Labor/Employee Relations, as well as policy and procedure interpretation. * Must have working knowledge of state and federal laws along with practical application. * Must have experience in administering FMLA, affirmative action planning, and workers compensation management and unemployment. * Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment preferred The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
