SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Join a dynamic and mission-driven team as a Med/Surg Clinical Pharmacist at Hershey Medical Center, where your contributions directly impact patient care. In this role, you will participate in interdisciplinary rounds and provide direct patient care while mentoring the next generation of pharmacy professionals and engaging in opportunities for essential research projects.

You’ll engage collaboratively with colleagues across various disciplines to implement innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a culture of learning. Your responsibilities will include working in diverse clinical and operational settings within the department. We require a commitment to rotating day and evening shifts, as well as coverage for every third weekend and one major and one minor holiday per calendar year. Note: Day and evening shifts can include clinical and operational focused work, though preference for clinical shifts is given to clinical pharmacists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy required.

  • ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or 3 years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience required.

  • Active and valid PA licensure or eligibility as a Pharmacist required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to prioritize and organize daily activities to meet patient care needs required.

  • Effective verbal communication skills, time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities required.

  • Ability to analyze clinical data and perform calculations.

  • Computer and Microsoft Office skills required.

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmacotherapy required.

  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills required.

  • Effective mentoring and precepting abilities required.
