The Assistant Corporate Controller oversees general accounting, financial reporting, income tax compliance, and accounting processes for the organization. This role is responsible for accounting closes, the production of internal and external financial statements, analysis of financial statement relationships and profitability, and the administration of general ledger and financial reporting systems. This position oversees the coordination of the Company's annual external audits as well as the implementation of new accounting standards. Additionally, the Assistant Corporate Controller leads several accounting process functions, with a focus on continuous improvement and internal controls.

Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records, and assure that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with applicable policies and compliance requirements. Identify and mitigate financial risks.*
Oversee the financial close process and compilation of monthly internal financial statements, including variance analysis, written commentary on significant fluctuations, and summaries of financial highlights.*
Oversee the preparation of external financial statements and related disclosures as well as the coordination of the annual external financial statement audit and benefit plan audits.
Drive process improvement and automation to streamline accounting operations and promote efficiency, accuracy, and scalability while improving the quality of monthly and annual closes and associated financial reporting.*
Serve as a subject matter expert in U.S. GAAP. Remain current on new accounting pronouncements and technical accounting issues. Lead the analysis, research, documentation, and implementation of new accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the FASB.
Oversee the timely reconciliation and review of all balance sheet accounts across the Company, including reporting significant findings to senior management and leading remediation efforts where necessary.*
Provide leadership and direction to accounting process functions, such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Drive strategic initiatives to enhance controls and accountability as well as streamline processes and elevate the use of automation. Develop and monitor KPIs to measure progress.*
Provide strategic oversight for the Company's income tax compliance and planning efforts, which involves collaboration with the Company's outside tax consultants to project taxable income and quarterly tax payments, complete the tax provision and returns, and identify tax planning strategies. Ensure proper accounting and related financial statement disclo ures for income taxes.*
Lead the administration of the Company's general ledger and financial reporting systems. This includes the monthly consolidation, maintenance of the chart of accounts, development of new reports, and review/approval of user access.*
Spearhead special projects and provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing and reporting appropriate data points.
Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the department.*
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management
Minimum of 15 years of related accounting/finance experience.
Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience.
Must possess an active Pennsylvania CPA license.
Pre-Employment - CPA required
Post-Employment - This position requires maintaining the CPA certification through continuing education requirements paid by HE&R
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to perform technical research on accounting topics.
Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and ability to use these tools to create efficiencies.
Experience optimizing financial accounting software and reporting tools.
Proven analytical skills and ability to easily summarize complex financial information.
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have a valid Drivers' License
Additional Qualifications:
Industry Experience - Financial Services, Hospitality
MBA a plus
Previous public accounting experience preferred.
