Amazon Technical Program Manager II, AWS Vulnerability Management in Herndon, Virginia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Vulnerability Management team is looking for a passionate, innovative, and motivated Technical Program Manager. At AWS, Security is job zero. Our team is responsible for protecting AWS cloud and implementing and automating security solutions at AWS’ unprecedented scale. In this role, you will be part of an agile team of technical program managers and security engineers, managing complex security programs that have direct and measurable impact on our customers. Our programs protect the AWS cloud for all customers and preserve our customers’ trust in us. They stretch across all of AWS, giving you the opportunity to interact with product teams, industry specialists, security partners, and organization leaders. Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute complex project plans with an impact across business units to drive security excellence.

  • Lead initiatives aimed at identifying and eliminating security risks for AWS and its partner teams

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide both structured and creative thinking in a dynamic, evolving, multi team-based environment

  • Show ownership and leadership skills in coordinating projects across multiple teams, driving them to successful conclusion while building strong, lasting relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Be comfortable working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment while driving teams to complete goals

  • Demonstrate the ability to break abstract goals into attainable, measurable work items

  • Manage a cross-functional process to translate the desired customer experience into a logically sequenced and optimized product roadmap and product releases

  • Be comfortable with hands-on day-to-day problem-solving, implementing quick and effective action plans to meet short term priorities

  • Prepare and present business reviews to senior management

A day in the life

  • Work with Service Teams across AWS to meet vulnerability management requirements

  • Manage projects that improve vulnerability management across AWS

  • Dive deep into the vulnerability management space to identify problems and potential solutions

  • Work with security assurance teams, internal stakeholders and federal agencies on compliance programs

  • Be customer obsessed so that our internal teams have all the tools and mechanisms to make their vulnerability management experience easy and straightforward.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
