WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for Alternative Delivery Projects in our Herndon, Virginia office. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in procurement of transit, highway and infrastructure projects using Alternative Delivery methods (P3, DB, CM/GC). Your Impact

  • Leading alternative delivery proposal preparation and business development activities

  • Leading projects with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design

  • Responsible for maintaining schedule, budget, quality and profitability of assigned projects

  • Coordinating with other design disciplines

  • Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages

  • Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements

  • Providing Training to Staff-level Engineers

  • Coordinating with internal and external clients

  • Create effective long-term client/contractor relationships

  • Supporting business development initiatives

  • Representing WSP's alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry associations.

  • Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices.

  • Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 12+ years of experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for highways.

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia.

  • Understanding and familiarity with AASHTO and VDOT Design Guidelines and Standards.

  • Proficiency in VDOT SS10, Microstation and Geopak design software.

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Strong relationships with Alternative Delivery project Owners, Clients and Contractors is strongly desired

  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer.
