Job Description

The Vice President of Technology, Research and Planning/CIO will be responsible for the overall leadership, integration and implementation of the strategies and initiatives to deliver institutional transformation through technology and data. The Vice President/CIO will create an accountable, planful and transparent environment for institutional continuous improvement, effectiveness and quality. Additionally, the Vice President/CIO will be responsible for the effective, efficient and secure use of technology to support institutional advancement, student success and academic quality. Through integrated leadership, this position will advance technology used to support online learning, classroom technology and pedagogy and provide overall direction in the college planning process.

Reporting directly to the President, this position will regularly collaborate with other college vice presidents and administrators to advance college and departmental goals as well as work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and fully support the college’s commitment to equity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Five (5) years’ experience providing leadership over information systems, data and research, or other enterprise technology.

  • Three (3) years’ supervisory experience including task assignment and performance evaluation.

  • Three (3) experience in budget development, project management and strategic and yearly organizational planning.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills sufficient to convey information effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from a diverse community of administrators, faculty, students and staff.

  • Policy level experience with information assurance and data security.

  • Experience with ITIL service management

Preferred Qualification

  • Two (2) years’ experience working with Higher Education or similar accreditation requirements.

  • Two (2) years’ experience with and a deep understanding of the teaching and learning process and instructional pedagogy.

  • Successful record of management experience within a complex environment.

  • Demonstrated information technology leadership experience in a higher education setting.
