UNC Health Care Graphic Design Specialist in Hendersonville, North Carolina

Summary:

The Graphic Design Specialist coordinates graphic design needs in support of objectives and goals related to the organization’s brand and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Designs and produces assets across multi-channel applications, including advertising, brochures, digital graphics, signage, communications, event materials, etc., to support organization initiatives and improve community perception of the brand.

• Maintains brand and design standards, with guidance from department leadership.

• Manages multiple projects, working within brand design specifications and budget restrictions. Works closely with other marketing and communications staff to plan and maintain department production schedules. Maintains record of projects, both requested and executed, in project management system. Supports department processes and policies related to design requests, workflow, and others, as assigned.

• Works cohesively with other marketing and communications staff to accomplish project goals through design best practices, identifying graphic elements and content to be incorporated into projects.

• Researches vendors and procures price quotes for printing and other design-related services. Maintains record of projects, quotes, quantities, and costs to facilitate cost savings on future projects.

• Maintains printed marketing materials and promotional items/supplies by coordinating requirements with the Marketing Coordinator or assigned team project manager.

• Oversees the organization’s photography needs, including working with staff, volunteers, and contract photographers. Identifies and coordinates additional services such as videography and outsourcing as identified as necessary.

• Organizes and preserves photo archives and graphic design files. Coordinates design materials to be appropriately included in document control procedures.

Other information:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Graphic Design or related field

• At least three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field

• Strong graphic design skills and willingness to design within brand standards

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience working with standard desktop productivity suites such as Microsoft Office

• Ability to handle multiple projects independently, with keen attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines with occasional quick turnarounds

• Possess knowledge of design principles, of the pre- and post-production process, print production, critiquing, and workflow processes

Preferred

• Experience performing project-based work statements

• Experience working with SharePoint or other content management platforms

• Experience with project management platforms

• Experience in healthcare

• Photography and/or videography skills a plus
