Basic Job Functions:

The Electrical Engineer's role is to coordinate both short and long-term strategies to ensure safe and reliable operation of our substation and distribution system throughout the facility. This individual will assist with root cause analysis, determining/implementing corrective actions, developing specifications for equipment and projects, and training of plant personnel on all systems within our medium and high voltage distribution network.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Electrical Power/Energy Systems Engineering or obtained by 2025 Previous experience/ training in Industrial Power Distribution in the Steel Industry

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with power system modeling, short circuit studies including relay coordination, arc flash analysis, transient analysis, and harmonic analysis. Experience programming microprocessor relays. Knowledge of application of power electronics in electrical energy systems
