Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

As an HVAC technician, you will install and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within plant buildings. Your primary responsibilities will involve performing preventative maintenance, but you will also install duct, compression, and other HVAC systems in buildings throughout the plant. This role is multidimensional, combining practical skills with technical knowledge, and requires experience in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Repair malfunctioning HVAC systems

  • Inspect functioning systems for potential issues and perform preventative maintenance

  • Install new HVAC systems in new build or renovation projects

  • Follow blueprints from other HVAC specialists or design your own systems

  • Test and troubleshoot your installations after completion

  • Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out installations

  • Install components such as compressors, motors, piping, and ducts

  • Connect systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other components

  • Test individual components to ensure proper installation and operation

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable HVAC codes and maintain a safe work environment

  • Troubleshoot systems and identify problems

  • Replace or repair defective parts

  • Perform emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with safety standards

  • Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used

  • Stay current with advances in HVAC technology and best practices

  • Perform the duties of a Maintenance Repair Person as needed

Essential Skills

  • Valid license to perform work as an HVAC technician in the state of Nevada

  • Experience with HVAC, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, mechanical, and electrical work

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and building specifications

  • Proficiency in installing compressors, motors, piping, and ducts

  • Experience with connecting systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other components

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records

Work Environment

You will be working in an industrial environment at a union facility. The position is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Henderson, Nevada.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $87401.60 - $87401.60/yr.
