Position Summary

Manages the team responsible for internal controls for the Accounts Payable and Supply Chain functions, as well as the team which administers the corporate credit card and travel policies and governance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, performance, and review of business process controls for Supply Chain and Accounts Payable to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOx). Oversee self-assessments, internal audits, SOx walkthroughs, control execution, and external audit support.

  • Communicate control assessment results to leadership and internal stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring remediation activities are completed. Assess and develop plans to manage and mitigate risks identified.

  • Manage the employee corporate credit card and travel and expenses programs. Ensure program parameters are aligned with market conditions and drive desired behaviors. Maintain programs to promote ease of use balanced with fiscal responsibility. Oversee spend reporting and compliance training for these programs.

  • Manage and maintain policy and procedure documents related to Supply Chain and Accounts Payable controls as well as corporate credit card and travel governance.

  • Oversee compliance reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts for supply chain, accounts payable, and corporate credit card processes.

  • Manage the department operating budget.

  • Hire, manage, and develop staff to ensure a high-performing staff equipped to meet Xcel Energy's current and future needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum five years of experience in one or a combination of the following areas: accounting, internal controls, SOx controls, process improvement, audit, or compliance reporting.

  • Previous SOx experience is required.

  • Previous experience leading a corporate credit card program is desired.

  • Knowledge of accounts payable and/or supply chain process flows is desired.

  • Previous management experience with the ability to motivate others and promote a team environment is desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning ability are required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $92,300.00 to $130,566.66 per year
