Aerotek B-Shift Slitter Operator in Hebron, Kentucky

Job Title: B-Shift Slitter Operator

Job Description

The Slitter Operator will be responsible for reading a bill of materials, performing machine set-ups, threading film into the machine, setting blades to the proper width, and programming the machine for length, speed, and tension. The operator will also take the product off the machine, stack it in containers, and send it to shipping. The B-Shift schedule is from 6pm to 6:15am, Saturday and Sunday through Tuesday, with work required every other Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the leader table for proper tapes, leaders, and trailers, and retrieve the proper cores from inventory.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of the machine by adjusting speed, winding tension, and brake tension.

  • Recover film breaks by stopping the machine, cutting broken film, and re-threading the machine.

  • Complete quality checks using calipers.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude or experience in machine operation or manufacturing.

  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

  • Experience in performing machine set-up, changeovers, and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with slitting, roll-to-roll conversion, and slitter machines.

  • Experience in paper cutting, labeling, and film handling is a plus.

  • Familiarity with calipers for quality checks.

Work Environment

The facility is clean, climate-controlled, and very comfortable. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, blue jeans and/or Cintas pants with no holes, and a solid-colored shirt. Shorts are also acceptable.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $21.75/hr.
