We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be part of a small team, working in an open plan office environment in the telecom industry. The role will primarily involve assisting with accounting tasks, customer invoicing, and understanding the relationship between purchasing and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with various accounting functions

• Handling customer invoicing and understanding how it should be costed

• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of how Accounts Payable (AP) relates to Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Reviewing invoices of parts to ensure accurate costing

• Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate department

• Assisting with the preparation of budgets

• Processing expense reports

• Understanding the link between purchasing and the accounting side of operations

• Ensuring all accounting tasks are performed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements • Proficient in executing accounting functions accurately and timely

• Experienced in managing accounts payable (AP)

• Ability to review and process invoices efficiently

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other relevant computer applications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
