School Social Worker Under the direction of the Special Education Director of the NE BOCES or his/her designee, the NE BOCES School Social Worker will work cooperatively with local member school districts to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, by conducting screenings, evaluations, consulting with school staff, developing behavior plans, making community referrals, and providing direct counseling services. The School Social Worker will also assist with the transitioning of students from high school to work or college through agency collaboration, and help parents and students to understand the special education processes. A Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) is preferred. Applicants willing to obtain a MSW degree will be considered. This position is based on a 175 day contract mid-August through May.
