DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Senior Center Operator 1, you will participate in the organization, planning, and scheduling of activities for older adults, in addition to assisting in the oversight of daily operations of the senior center.  Responsibilities include building a positive rapport with patrons to encourage socialization and participation in offered activities, organizing the presentation of instructional, recreational, or other programs led by instructors, scheduling custodial services, and ensuring the accurate daily food deliveries are received as scheduled and special dietary requests are honored.  This is a rewarding career which allows you to assist with promoting a healthy life style by keeping older adults socially active and providing educational and informative programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Pike County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Pike County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
