Job Description: The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. This role involves the review of contracts to understand quality requirements and interfacing with customer portals to manage and track quality-related issues and documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Review Customer Supply Chain Drawings and Purchase Order notes and Flow downs.

  • Analyze customer contracts, specifications to understand quality requirements.

  • Work with Sales team to identify items flown down but not included in sales order.

  • Ensure all quality requirements are documented and communicated to relevant departments.

  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues within the contracts that may affect quality compliance.

  • Access and utilize customer portals to upload, track, and manage quality documentation and reports.

  • Monitor customer feedback and complaints through portals, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and quality-related documentation within the customer portals.

  • Coordinate with customer to obtain approvals for Engineering Change Notices, deviations, and waivers.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Suggest and implement changes to processes to enhance product quality.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal quality policies.

  • Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and any corrective actions taken.

  • Prepare and present quality reports to management and customers as required.

  • Provide training to employees on quality standards and procedures.

  • Support cross-functional teams in understanding and meeting quality objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years.

  • Strong understanding of supplier quality management principles.

  • Experience with Contract review, supplier portals, supplier audits and inspections.

  • Ability to read and interpret customer SCD and PO notes and flow downs.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Microsoft Office and Teams

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards and AS9100 auditing.

  • Experience with Net-Inspect and DISCUS and AS9100 Auditing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
