The Production Mechanic for Cytiva is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, general repairs, emergency repairs, and installation of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical components and systems. This person must respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize impact to production schedule. This person should be able to use their abilities to solve difficult equipment and process problems while working with little supervision.

This position is part of the Maintenance Department located in Hauppauge, NY and will be a second shift position, working hours will be 4:00PM – 12:00AM. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various production equipment and components including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical components, and control systems. Typical items include but are not limited to air or electrically operated control valves, process controllers, TCU/chillers, electric and air operated pumps, motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), belt drives, transmissions, pneumatic and magnetic particle clutches/brakes, sensors and measurement devices for flow, pressure, temperature, speed, force, or RPM, pressure and flow regulators, anti-static devices, rollers, shafts, inflatable core chucks, and PLC control systems.

  • Respond promptly to equipment issue or failures and diagnose and repair quickly to minimize downtime impacts to product quality.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all work performed on maintenance logs, in databases, on traceability forms as/where required. Maintain accurate and complete records of all parts and materials inventory. Create purchase requisitions for parts and materials as needed. Work independently or as part of a team, with the ability to oversee or train new or developing personnel if necessary.

    Who you are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years related industry experience in equipment maintenance.

  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components and control systems and equipment components and troubleshooting including accurately documenting work performed and spare parts/materials used.

  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing difficult electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and machine control problems, including troubleshooting programmable frequency drives and PLC's.

The hourly range for this role is $28.00 - $42.00 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
