OVERVIEW
Associate Systems Engineers are responsible for delivering technology solutions for our clients. This position involves significant customer interaction and requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ hands-on experience implementing routers, switches, and wireless systems using Cisco/Meraki Infrastructure. Individuals should be detail-oriented, take pride in their work and are looking to grow within the organization.
The candidate must have a car and license . This position requires heavy NYC travel within all five boroughs as well as in office time located in Hauppauge, NY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside our lead system engineering team on network infrastructure projects
Responsible for performing Rack and Stack of Network Devices in multiple environments including new construction job sites
Patch and Cable all Network Devices as per customers approved network design
Configure, install and troubleshoot Infrastructure & Wireless Networks
Accurately understand and document client environment pre and post project design
Interact directly with Clients during deployments to meet or exceed client satisfaction
Responsible for communicating and escalating issues in a timely manner
Provide documented summations of work assignments including client sign off, punch lists and resolutions
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
CCNA certification strongly preferred
2+ years of network integration and documentation experience
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Understanding of fundamentals of networking concepts
Hands on experience with Local Area Network (LAN) & Wireless LAN
Knowledge of Cat 5/6 cable and fiber cable technologies and connections
Knowledge and experience with installing and configuring Cisco and Meraki network devices, including switches, Firewalls, ASAs, wireless controllers, and access points
Hands on experience in upgrading and downgrading IOS images on Cisco / Meraki Devices
Must be able to accurately document network integration changes and updates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective communicator with the ability to provide clear and concise communication with teammates and clients alike
Skilled with organization, decision making and time management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
MEASUREMENTS
Preferred (not required)
OSHA 10 or higher training certification; will need to obtain upon hire
Previous network and technology support experience working in a NYC DOE School Building or Admin Office Environment
Hands-on experience with Video Surveillance Project and or Genetec Omnicast or Security Center
Ability & experience in updating CAD floor plans
