This position is for an Enrollment Specialist/Student Support Coordinator with an educational institution in Gulfport, MS.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Military Benefits Services Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of Military Benefits Processing Center with all aspects of the military benefits processing functions and performs, with the assistance of other staff members, all necessary duties and responsibilities that are incumbent for this position. Conduct accurate and timely VA administration and certification for students as required by law. Maintain effective working relationships with college personnel, veteran and military personnel, dependents, and the community. Maintain accurate, confidential, and complete filing system for student information and all college business. Maintain current working knowledge of college policies, veteran funding chapters, required forms, website information, financial aid, business office practices, government policies and procedures for students to access benefits and to maintain accurate student records. Utilize college software and reports to maintain accurate student files and certify students for VA benefits. Enter required student information in veteran websites to certify students. Handle difficult situations with positive and professional composure at all times. Demonstrate exceptional adherence to work schedules and policies as exemplary. Performance for co-workers and subordinates. Process telephone calls, emails, and other communications in an effective and efficient manner. Produce accurate letters, reports and minutes as required utilizing Microsoft Office Applications and VA Once. Participate in college and community projects and committees as needed. Attend appropriate conferences, workshops and seminars to facilitate professional development. Participate in activities and meetings and perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience: Minimum of Associate Degree in Business and Office Technology or related field from a regionally accredited intuition of higher education.Two years of management and /or secretarial experience in an educational, governmental, business, or other entity. Training and/or experience in the operation of personal computers to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail and Internet. Excellent organizational and time management skills (multitasking). Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business Education or related field. Experience in Veterans Services Certification. Supervisory Experience. Four years office management and/or secretarial experience in educational, governmental, business or other entity. SCT Banner Administrative Software experience and document imaging software.
