The HR Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This position resolves employee questions and supports the recruitment function. The HR Coordinator will often be the first point of contact for employees, leaders and candidates. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

General Function

The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This position resolves associate questions and supports the HR Business Partners. The Human Resource Coordinator will often be the point of contact for associates, leaders and new hires. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Essential Responsibilities

Associate Relations

  • Performs customer service functions by answering associate requests and questions.

  • Triage associate relations intake to resolve minor situations while escalating more complex situations to appropriate HR Business Partner.

  • Assists in the investigation process with the HR Business Partner.

  • Support and coordinate meetings and follow up correspondence with associate relations situations.

  • Draft performance documentation and recommend appropriate level of discipline.

  • Conduct exit interviews.

    Onboarding

  • Manages the onboarding experience through HRIS to ensure new hires complete necessary steps, documentation and acknowledgements.

  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.

  • Coordinate with internal teams for new hire access.

  • Support orientation, scheduling introductions and providing guidance for new hire starts.

    Administration

  • Tracks and supports coordination of associate leaves, workers compensation and conducts follow up with associates and leaders as needed.

  • Files documents into appropriate associate files.

  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.

  • Prepares new-associate files.

  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.

  • Processes associate changes within the HRIS system including hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.

  • Processes mail.

  • Assists with reconciling benefits statements.

  • Assists with the performance review process.

  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.

  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.

    Orientation

  • Administers new associate orientation including benefit enrollments, employment documentation and assists associates in documentation completion.

  • Coordinates dates and times for scheduling orientation which may include onsite and remote associates.

  • Tracks completion of associate documentation and benefit enrollments.

    Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with coursework in Human Resources required, Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years general HR experience required.

  • Knowledge of employment law.

  • HR Certification preferred (SHRM or HRCI)

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
