About the Role:

As a Senior Product Manager focused on pricing strategy, you will play a key role in optimizing Confluent's pricing models and driving business growth. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and finance teams to align technical specifications with effective pricing strategies. By refining product adoption and growth assumptions, you will calibrate financial projections and enable data-driven decision-making. Your expertise will also be crucial in planning deal strategies, discounting, and maintaining up-to-date documentation.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive pricing strategy: Work closely with product, engineering, finance, and revenue teams to understand technical specifications, map relevant details, and translate them into optimized pricing strategies.

  • Produce financial projections: Use pricing strategy to refine product adoption assumptions, growth assumptions, etc. to calibrate financial projections, including margin estimation, TAM forecast, and impact on growth essentially helping finance and revenue teams to estimate the financials better

  • Plan and execute deal strategy: Develop and implement deal and discounting strategies as part of the overall pricing strategy. Maintain internal and external documentation related to pricing.

  • Craft compelling messaging: Connect technical products and features to customer pain points and articulate their business value. Develop messaging and positioning that effectively conveys the value of Confluent's solutions, products, and services.

  • Collaborate on Product GTM: Lead product pricing initiatives for product and solution launches, ensuring enablement for Go-to-Market teams and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate on competitive benchmarking: Work with Sales, product marketing, finance, and business development to plan and execute enablement around competitive positioning and new product launches.

  • Gather insights & assess impact: Present at internal and external events, interact with customers and partners and gather insights to refine strategy. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies against key business metrics.

  • Ensure consistent messaging: Collaborate with product marketing to integrate product pricing messaging across communication channels.

  • Optimize pricing for growth: Work with the PLG team to optimize pricing for product adoption, conversion, and other top-of-funnel metrics.

  • Maintain content strategy: Oversee and influence content strategy to ensure internal and external content such as enablement material, website, documentation, etc. including pricing and cost estimators, is up to date.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of product management or agency experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Deep understanding of pricing strategies and methodologies

  • Experience in enterprise software or SaaS industry is a plus
