We have an exciting remote opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Solution Architect Data Systems to join our team!  

What You Will Do:

Reporting within the Digital Product Management organization, the successful candidate will be highly collaborative, technically savvy, and passionate about delivering impactful user experiences to customers. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for the leading the practice of designing, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure and operations for a given product. They are responsible to work with architects from other disciplines to ensure that the product’s technical solutions and approaches are consistent with other parts of the enterprise.

Digital products that the team helps to manage include: customer portals, enterprise analytic systems, engine health management systems and digital twin / thread environments.

The engine health management product systems are focused on how data in received from the airline / engine operational domain and how we deliver that data, process it for useful information and insights and deliver those insights back to customers – both internal and external.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Architect solutions and integrations to build cloud foundation and infrastructure for secure delivery of products or services

  • Analyze existing topology for designing or refactoring of digital initiatives

  • Build and provision cloud solutions and platforms to meet applications needs while standardizing offerings to drive enterprise strategy and efficiencies

  • Manage and administrate day to day and security by creating dashboards, monitoring, configuring, and user management

  • Support issue resolution for cloud solutions and infrastructure by working closely with cross-functional teams

  • Research emerging technologies and propose pivots where needed adding new ideas and insight while contributing to business value

  • As a solution architect, help lead and influence scrum teams to effectively meet architectural plans

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field and 10+ years of experience, including enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures for data and analytics, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management; OR an Advanced Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field and 7+ years of experience, including enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures for data and analytics, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen - this position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field preferred

  • Certification preferred for AWS Architect

  • Experience with software development life cycle and have coding or scripting experience

  • Experience with application scalability and performance testing

  • Experience with DevOps tools (example: Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild)

  • Experience in all aspects of data governance and data engineering

  • Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform

  • Demonstrated experience designing and building architectures with distributed and tiered applications or real time data movement with edge devices that use security and encryption protocols

  • Demonstrated expertise with a with large-scale application portfolios in enterprise-wide environments (including migration of on premise to cloud) and security aspects of cloud architecture

  • Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e. Windows and Linux IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, SAP, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers and Infra as a code technologies

  • Demonstrates hands-on technical skills and knowledge in one Server/OS, Network, Cloud migration, Database and Middleware management, or Storage and Virtualization management

  • Strong ability to communicate technical plans to technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders at all levels of organization

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
