Senior Specialist, Presale Enablement Marketing

The Hartford’s Group benefits is evolving its end-to-end customer engagement strategy, and a key component of that strategy is generating proposals for new business in response to requests for proposals (RFPs). This team member will write and edit content that is used by the Presale team, in collaboration with that team as well as subject matter experts throughout the company. In addition, they will play a key role on a cross-functional team that is reimagining the process for keeping our sales story updated, and standing up a new platform for housing and managing responses to RFP questions.

This position will be involved in all phases of initiatives and so requires both a creative and strategic mindset plus the attention to detail needed to manage projects through to completion. This individual will play a significant role in standing up a new platform and process for updating and managing proposal and other sales content.

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional content-refresh project

  • Prioritize RFP responses according to agreed-upon criteria

  • Partner with RFP response database administrator when that position is filled

  • Collaborate with marketing and Presale partners to incorporate AI into the content generation and retrieval process

  • Collaborate with Presale and Sales partners to solve content gaps and redundancies

  • Proactive, transparent communication via Microsoft Teams and other channels

  • Actively participate in the enterprise Writing Community of Practice, which ensures brand consistency and promotes innovation

  • Ensure we “walk the talk” on our Simplified Language initiative and commitment to DE&I.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Presale colleagues to rewrite and redesign executive summaries for proposals

  • Understanding of end to end sales continuum from RFP to stewardship and renewal

  • Support integration of new content portal into our presale and sales process

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years marketing, insurance industry experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with diverse business teams such as sales, account management, claims, strategy, digital and more

  • Proactive, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to pivot from detailed writing and editing to collaborative process management and back

  • Superior communication skills, both oral & written

  • Proven ability to convey technical topics with clarity and excitement

  • Detailed project manager

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must adapt well to new technology

  • Belief in test, learn, pivot

Preferred skills:

  • Strong writing and editing skills

Location: Hartford Hybrid or Remote

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$80,000 - $120,000
