Position Summary

The Large Case Pension Analyst is responsible for a broad range of pension income tax withholding and reporting actives for Aetna’s Large Case Pension defined benefit business. This includes the following,

  • Ensuring accurate tax withholding of monthly and lump sum pension benefits to participants.

  • Assisting in the accurate production of annual tax statements to participants.

  • Timely and accurate handling of participants tax inquires.

  • Effective coordination of tax issues received from clients, external parties, and internal Aetna areas.

  • Responding to IRS, State, and Local requests to implement tax levies.

  • Responding to a variety of Child Support Orders, IRS Penalty Notices, and IRS B-Notices.

  • Resolving difficult/sensitive tax situations and complaints.

  • Reviewing federal and state tax changes.

  • Coordinate tax changes with IT. Communicate changes to LCP participants as needed.

  • Developing knowledge of other Team functions

Individual must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Comply with all audit and control requirements adhering to established department guidelines and guarantee privacy of personal information.

This position will follow CVS/Aetna’s Hybrid Work Model. Tuesday-Thursday in office; Monday & Friday remote.

Required Qualifications

1+ year of experience and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills –work with payees, collaborating with IT, Corporate Tax, and Vendor contacts via clear written and oral communication.

  • Conscientious and attentive to detail. High degree of accuracy and timeliness in all responsibilities

  • Mathematical aptitude, adaptability, and interest in learning new business and technical functions.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Well organized; ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once.

  • Ensuring department awareness and compliance with LCP tax policy and tax laws and regulations

  • Understanding of defined benefit pension plans, benefits, forms of annuity, contracts, and related regulations.

  • Familiarity with Aetna’s pension benefits system and all aspects of benefits processing and benefit calculations.

  • An understanding of the Integrated Benefit Service System (IBSS).

  • An enthusiastic approach, eager to learn and the ability to grasp new concepts quickly.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,888.00 - $93,574.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
