DXC Technology Ingenium Developer Lead in Hartford, Connecticut

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining hosting infrastructure. This includes overseeing the deployment, configuration, and optimization of servers, networks, and cloud services to ensure maximum performance, availability, and security.

  • Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical support.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain hosting infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.

  • Implement security best practices to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring successful project completion and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members for their professional growth, conducting performance evaluations and career development planning.

  • Assist in formulating and implementing the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic planning and decision-making.

  • Lead technical discussions and design reviews, ensuring software architecture and design are sound.

  • Ensure that all software products meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve software development processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues that could impact project timelines.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team.

  • Monitor and optimize resource allocation, project schedules.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Typically, 10+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 7+ years in a similar role years of experience in software engineering.

  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Previous experience on projects related to INGENIUM, whether it involves implementation, upgrade, or enhancement.

  • Understanding the architecture of INGENIUM and hands-on experience in developing within this framework.

  • Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge of INGENIUM's product and its functionality within business processes.

  • Understanding and experience with all stages of the INGENIUM project lifecycle, from inception to deployment and maintenance.

  • Proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding desired business outcomes through modifications to INGENIUM and integrated software applications.

  • Experience on INGENIUM, Pathfinder, ProductXpress

  • Ingenium expert level experience is a must.

  • Pathfinder Experience at SME or Functional Level.

  • Experience on different versions of Ingenium is good to have.

  • Experience on Ingenium upgrades at mainframe, from mainframe to distributed.

  • Familiarity with various life insurance products such as whole life, term, disability, universal life, wealth, and health products.

  • Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies

  • Strong programming and debugging skills.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, including project and/or team management

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and team management skills.

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver software projects effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

  • Previous experience working within an Agile environment, implying familiarity with Agile principles and methodologies.

  • Proficiency in planning, prioritizing, and executing work, as well as identifying issues and providing timely solutions.

Other Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a related field is a plus

• Relevant certifications or training a plus

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,100 - $156,100.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
