CREC Resource Group - Behavior Technician - District Schools and Connecticut Technical Education and Career Systems (CTECS) - JOBID 12987

Position Description: The Behavior Technician must be proficient in data entry, skilled at working with students from multiple demographics, and must have good communication skills as well as compassion for the needs of a diverse student and family population. The technician will be expected to work inside and outside of the classroom to implement behavioral strategies, collaborate with staff members, and develop a positive climate.

Essential Functions

  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of BCBA
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
  • Daily collection and graphing of all required data (DTT, Manding, Behaviors, TA's, etc.)
  • Prepare program materials
  • Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues
  • Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving behavior under the supervision of the Administration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficient in data entry in multiple systems
  • Have the ability to implement Positive Behavioral Practices
  • Knowledge of Restorative Practices
  • Exceptional knowledge in the use of technology
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving behavior
  • Under the supervision of the Administration, assist staff in: defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents

Equipment

  • Use of standard office equipment such as personal computers, copy machines, fax machines, and telephones

Travel Requirements

  • As needed
