Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Harrisonburg, Virginia

Description We are in search of a seasoned Sr. Accountant to join our team located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As a Sr. Accountant, your main tasks will be to manage both the accounts payable and receivable functions and ensure the timely execution of bill payments and collections. This role will also involve utilizing SAP for managing financial transactions and generating reports, along with performing in-depth financial data analysis using Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable functions and assist with accounts receivable functions to ensure timely bill payments and collections.

• Complete account analyses and reconciliations to assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Utilize SAP to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate data entry, and generate reports.

• Work on improving processes within the SAP system for efficiency and accuracy.

• Perform in-depth financial data analysis using Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas to support decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations.

• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Assist with general office duties as necessary. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated proficiency in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

• Experience with Month End Close processes is crucial.

• Proficiency in Oracle and SAP software systems.

• Prior experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant is essential.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
