Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance work orders according to schedule. You will execute all work in a safe and professional manner by completing all tasks accurately and on time. The role requires light electrical skills, including handling emergency lights, exit signs, and lamp sweeps. Additionally, you will maintain and repair plumbing systems, interior and exterior finishes of buildings, and perform painting and tile repair. Operating scissor or boom lifts, working from ladders to replace light bulbs, and hanging banners are also part of the job. Accurate and timely completion of paperwork is essential, as well as keeping facilities clean in appearance by removing trash as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance work orders according to schedule.

  • Execute all work in a safe and professional manner by completing all tasks accurately and on time.

  • Handle light electrical tasks, including emergency lights, exit signs, and lamp sweeps.

  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems.

  • Maintain and repair interior and exterior finishes of buildings.

  • Paint interior and exterior walls and trim, and perform tile repair, including general touch-ups and repairs.

  • Operate scissor or boom lifts and work from ladders to replace light bulbs and hang banners.

  • Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Keep facilities clean in appearance by removing trash as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 2-5 years of mechanical experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and preventative/corrective maintenance.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving and logic skills.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures and Local Operating Procedures.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.

  • Possess the ability to work overtime on short notice.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • EPA Universal certification.

  • Scissor or Boom lift experience and certification preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to hire position based out of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00
