DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will train in the work of building inspection and enforcement for compliance with the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) and other applicable state laws and regulations. You will train in and assist with: Reporting unsafe conditions and violations. Conducting Accessibility Audits for compliance with Accessibility Standards and Building Codes. Conducting inspections. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is home headquartered. The selected candidate shall reside in one of these counties within 6 months of the start date: Dauphin, Lancaster, or Lebanon. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience inspecting commercial, industrial, or other public use buildings for compliance with building and safety codes; or Two years of building construction work which included the performance of skilled trades duties in the electrical, structural, plumbing, or mechanical trades; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires possession of a current valid Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.

Post Employment Requirements: This position requires a valid certification issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as an Accessibility Inspector/Plan Examiner within the probationary period. All positions in this job require one of the following valid certifications issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, within the probationary period: Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, or Energy Inspector.

Other Requirements: The selected candidate shall reside one of the assigned counties within six months of the start date. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
