Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will screen, examine and evaluate residents, including history, systems review, applications of appropriate tests and measures and interprets findings in order to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and time required to achieve it, identify precautions and design a plan of care.
Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the resident and caregivers, implements the treatment plan and completes all related documentation required for those services.
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will attend and contributes to resident care, staff conferences and other related meetings.
Consults with and makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the resident.
Provide exception customer service: ensures that resident and families receive the highest quality of service in caring and compassionate environment.
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for Clinical Programming.
Responsible for maintaining efficiency standards.
Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):
Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathologist from an accredited college or university.
Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in this state
Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
Must be knowledgeable of Speech Language Pathologist procedures
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
Must obtain and maintain GFY/CCC certification from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
