Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Sign Shop Manager in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4440007 THE POSITION Assist in ensuring the safety of Pennsylvania residents and tourists by creating a range of road and traffic signs. The Department of Transportation is seeking a Sign Shop Manager to oversee operations in the sign shop. Become a part of our team now and contribute to guiding drivers in the correct direction!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As the supervisor of a sign shop, your responsibilities will involve overseeing the production of around 70,000 signs. This will include managing inventory, processing orders, ensuring timely manufacturing and shipping of county office sign orders, coordinating material and hardware testing, and supervising sign production to maintain quality control. Additionally, you will need to adhere to Department of Environmental Protection procedures for handling hazardous waste, including proper storage, container marking, waste preparation for off-site shipping, and maintaining accurate records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Sign Technician Supervisor (commonwealth title); or Five years of experience in the manufacture of signs which includes two years of supervisory experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of supervisory experience in the manufacture of signs.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook and Excel Experience using a silk screen press Experience using a sign sheeting covering machine Experience using hydraulic shears Experience using a vinyl cutting plotter
