The Department of Health is seeking an energetic Purchasing Agent to join their team of professionals in the Procurement Office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for monitoring the processing of purchase documents, as well as coordinating with vendors, medication suppliers, procurement buyers the Comptroller's Office, the Department of General Services (DGS), and staff. You will also review purchasing processes, workflows, and authorizations. Other key duties of the position include reviewing shopping carts for accuracy, specifications, proper statewide contract referencing, correct account coding selection, pricing accuracy and extensions, and references to supplier relationship management (SRM) product categories. Additionally, this position requires you to maintain a knowledge of accurate and systematic supply, procurement, and inventory methods for the department, in addition to the preparation and approval of department documents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (37.50-hour work week) Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: Under the current administration, you may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; or

Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Post-high school education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.
