DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Public Health Program Administrator (PHPA), you will lead strategies to improve nutrition, increase physical activity and prevent and control obesity. Funding for these strategies and this position comes from Center for Disease Control (CDC) funded grants, namely the Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant. As the nutrition and physical activity strategy lead, you will perform vital planning, support and oversight of federal grant funds. You will oversee the development, implementation, and collaboration of nutrition and physical activity strategies to improve health outcomes.

Additionally, you will actively participate in statewide coalitions and work groups with common goals. To reduce health disparities, you will utilize data to identify and understand health disparities and implement equity assessments to ensure equitable public health approaches. You will be responsible for the preparation of reports for the CDC, including budgetary, financial, programmatic, and evaluation deliverables.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, working the third Thursday of the month in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title); or A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance;  or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
