Department Description:

The Availability Engineering team develops engineering solutions for OCI’s most interesting challenges & drive up time for our customers. We work across the Infrastructure organization, often at the highest levels to drive Availability Improvements.

Position Overview:

As Director of Operations you will work across the Core Infrastructure Availability Engineering organization, first and foremost to support the organization Executive in his daily routine, meetings, and decisions. Further, to drive the rhythm of the business and manage several strategic executive support services such as organizational planning and hiring, finance and budgets, HR, and reviewing/ghostwriting exec memos and presentations.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Program Management and works closely with the Leadership Team. As a member of the Leadership Team, you'll be a full contributor to all discussions and topics, participating in most relevant meetings and offering synthesized business perspectives relevant to influencing key strategic decisions.

Your particular focus is on improving the effectiveness of the leadership team, specifically the lead executive and the Director of Program Management. You'll contribute tactically towards solutions with or on behalf of the team, and also think holistically and OCI-wide about key operational rhythms, business processes, and procedures in order to enable more effective execution.

Additional Points of Responsibility:

  • Helping the Core Infrastructure Availability Engineering SVP/leadership team develop, balance, and support key priorities of the business.

  • Translating strategy into actions and/or coordinating with the Snr Dir of Program Management to drive projects that achieve leadership outcomes.

  • Building operational rhythms and calendars which anticipate the delivery needs of the organization and enable the leadership team to operate effectively and efficiently.

  • Managing cadence, agenda/logistics for org-wide and leadership meeting (e.g. All Hands).

  • Developing and managing annual, semi-annual, and quarterly processes specific to strategy and goal development, managing business priorities.

  • Acting as single point of contact for strategic work streams.

  • Driving internal executive communication functions, including broad employee engagement and reinforcement of organization vision/culture through planning and execution of the leader’s communication strategy.

  • Serving as a liaison with organizations that commonly collaborate with Core Infrastructure Availability Engineering.

  • Proactively identifying issues that impede business group success and providing solutions/recommendations.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

This Director Program Management, Chief of Staff will have the experience described below:

  • 10+ years of broad related experience such as business operations, program management, budgeting and financial planning, growth development, business management, and communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and enable executive leadership on complex business topics, plus ability to effectively collaborate, influence, and leverage outside resources to drive results.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple high-profile projects of varying timelines simultaneously.

  • Ability to manage a high degree of complexity and to distill information into simple messages; able to think both strategically at a global level as well as effectively developing key processes.

  • Exceptional cross-organization coordination and communication skills including ability to build comprehensive and compelling presentation and communication materials that span functions and groups.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to build trust, influence, and foster relationships with diverse team members; ability to leverage relationships to drive consistency of approach and ensure delivery.

  • Ability to balance varying responsibilities that span rhythm of business, communications, executive management, and culture.

  • Passion to foster a culture of efficiency and high performance through initiatives, training & education, and communication.

  • Uses data-driven decision making that–when appropriate–takes a backseat to high-judgement guesses.

  • Technical aptitude.

  • Manages confidentiality without exception.

EDUCATION

Bachelors’ degree preferred.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,400 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
