Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all plant process and material handling equipment from reading a blueprint/schematic.

  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment within the facility such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools. Be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and engineering drawings.

  • Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures by communicating with workers, leaders, and production supervisors.

  • Initiate purchase orders or work orders for parts, tools, and machines.

  • Perform at reasonable speeds, taking full advantage of the equipment available.

  • Communicate issues with equipment, machinery, ingredients or product to supervisors clearly and immediately.

  • Maintain an understanding of the flow of work on the production floor, from staging, through production, to storage.

  • Complete required paperwork properly, and understand the content.

  • Show a basic understanding and application of in-house asset management software.

  • Understand and show the ability to abide by applicable OSHA standards and environmental regulations.

  • Observe all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and good housekeeping practices. Act with quality, safety, and teamwork in mind at all times.

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

Will be working as a mechanic on food production machinery. The plant is located downtown Harrisburg, but will eventually transition to a new building in Middletown. Will be working in a fast-paced environment, cold, hot, loud, and dirty environments while following GMPs.

Shift: 1st Shift - 4:30 am to 2:30 pm, roughly 45-50 hours a week.

Pay: $24.96 - After training, $25.60
