This position plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing our DevOps practices, with a particular focus on cloud network administration. The position leads a team of DevOps engineers, ensuring efficient deployment pipelines, system reliability, and seamless integration across our infrastructure. The role involves both strategic leadership and hands-on technical work, making it essential to balance management responsibilities with deep technical involvement.

The role is responsible for core AWS infrastructure in a sophisticated multi-account environment. The role enables development teams to own their own infrastructure, producing standards and guidelines and automation platforms to lower friction.

This role directly impacts the efficiency of the business to develop, maintain and reduce infrastructure costs and accelerate time-to-market for new products and solutions, ultimately enhancing overall business performance and competitiveness in the market.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES

  • Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development

  • Collaborate with other engineering and IT teams to define and implement best practices, processes, and standards

  • Oversee the planning and execution of DevOps projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives

  • Technical Expertise

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions, with a focus on AWS (Azure)

  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and enhance software delivery

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, network configuration, and application performance

  • Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems are in place to maintain system health and performance

  • Participant in the on-call rotation

  • Cloud Network Administration

  • Architect and manage cloud network environments, including VPCs, TransitGateways, Gateway Load Balancer, Lattice, PrivateLinks, routing, security groups, and VPNs

  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and manage cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions

  • Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement in DevOps practices, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies and recommend innovations that align with organizational goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 + years of AWS cloud experience

  • 5 + years of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation

  • 5 + years of experience with Kubernetes technologies and ability to design and diagnose production grade deployments at scale

  • 5 + years of production grade coding experience with languages such as Bash, Python and Golang for scripting and automation of services

  • 5 + years of experience with containerization, the docker ecosystem and related tooling

  • 2 + years of working with Palo Alto firewalls

  • 2 + years of leadership experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A solid grasp of cloud security and best practices and an understanding of compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST is preferred.

  • Azure and GCP Experience

*The US base salary range for this full-time position is:

$143,327.23 - $214,990.85
