JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Harrisburg's Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology Program is seeking applications by individuals interested in a position of Lab Coordinator - Engineering in Electrical Engineering.

Primary duties include:

Assist faculty and teaching assistants in preparing teaching laboratories and train student assistants in the use of laboratory equipment, including supporting students in Capstone classes; conduct tours of the laboratory facilities

Supervise student teaching assistants for the EE/EET laboratory classes

Train undergraduate and graduate student researchers in the use of research equipment; maintain and update instructional videos for major equipment

Serve as the electrical engineering laboratory safety officer; ensure laboratories and equipment are maintained and operated in compliance with safety regulations; coordinate activities with University Environmental Health and Safety; maintain records of faculty and student training and of other EHS issues as appropriate; respond to EHS concerns

Manage and maintain laboratory supplies for electrical engineering teaching and research

Oversee the selection and purchase of new equipment; develop equipment specifications; set up, demonstrate, and explain equipment technology, capabilities, operations, limitations, and outcomes; pilot test experiments; develop maintenance plans and coordinate repair and calibration of equipment

Organize and conduct workshops for students and faculty, including design and hands-on workshops such as for PCB design and support

Assist with the laboratory portion of research and grant proposals

Coordinate use and reporting of research budget and funds related to laboratory activities

Candidates should possess knowledge of principles and practices for EE/EET laboratory operations and instrumentation. Prior experience in designing, assembling and debugging electronic circuits, and 3D printing/design, in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree preferred to be in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or higher, plus 1 + of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $51,000.00 - $74,000.00
