DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will oversee and prioritize workflow for analysts engaged in the review of financial documents from insurance companies. This involves supervising and training staff in analysis activities to ensure appropriate depth of review, the inclusion of supporting documentation, and compliance with timelines guidelines. Assignments of regulated entities and insurance groups and the level of oversight provided to analysts are determined based upon risks, complexity, and staff abilities. Effective leadership skills are essential for encouraging staff to exercise professional skepticism and utilize critical thinking in investigating issues and reviewing information provided by regulated entities.

Responsibilities also include participating in the analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies and procedures as well as reviewing proposed initiatives to discern their impact on operations and recommending revisions to these policies and procedures. You will also serve as an agency representative on National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) working groups, task forces and ad hoc committees. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Schedule is flexible. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as an Insurance Company Financial Analyst 2 (commonwealth title): or Four years of professional accounting, auditing, financial investigation, financial compliance, or insurance market conduct experience; and a bachelor's degree in insurance, accounting, finance, statistics, economics, public administration, business administration, or a closely related field, which includes 15 credits in accounting, finance, or auditing; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 15 credits in accounting, finance, or auditing.
