Reference #: 4445221 THE POSITION Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and knowledge in the information technology (IT) field?  If so, look no further!  The Infrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center (IEDDC), Technology Services Office is seeking a professional and highly motivated Information Technology Generalist 1 to join the team in providing end-to-end IT support for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).  If you are an enthusiastic and hard-working individual who is ready for a new challenge, we want to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will provide IT support for end users in the PEMA headquarters building, the State Operations Center (SOC) in Harrisburg, two regional PEMA facilities, and State Fire Academy sites as necessary.  You will ensure daily operations are not disrupted while assisting users in adapting and applying information technology to work applications. Specific responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving network issues, installation and servicing of hardware and software, and documenting and managing work assignments through the Remedy Action Request System.  You will also develop training materials, manuals, bulletins, on-line help documents, and other user aids in addition to consulting with users to discuss and assess existing software and hardware, and recommend the acquisition of software, hardware, and information technology services.  We are looking for someone who demonstrates clear and concise communication skills and delivers customer-friendly, professional support to employees at various levels throughout the organization.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, as necessary.  You will work from headquarters on a regular basis and must request and secure approval in advance of scheduling telework days.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
