Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Forest Technician (Wage) - Ecological Resource Division in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides technical assistance in the field for the Ecological Services Section. Your role involves conducting surveys and providing support in the treatment and monitoring of invasive plants. Additionally, you will assist in various projects related to plant and wildlife habitat enhancement and management. This includes activities such as managing wild plant sanctuaries, implementing plant recovery plans, wildlife species habitat management plans, aquatic management plans, and climate change action plans. You will also be responsible for collecting field data in electronic format and preparing written reports as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Travel to field work as needed. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: An associate's degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Conditions of Employment: This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
