DESCRIPTION OF WORK You will excel as the Executive Policy Director at DCED if you thrive in an ever-changing work environment. Excellent communication skills are essential in this position as you will function independently to resolve issues on behalf of our executive team and keep in constant contact with Governor Shapiro's Office on all policy related topics. No day is the same, key job duties include:

Revising, tracking, and helping establish policies, as well as providing recommendations for consideration; Reviewing and analyzing legislation impacting DCED, including assisting other staff with developing policy positions on proposed legislation; Assisting with the budget development process by helping to draft and review the budget book program measures, program revision requests, department statements, and other budget-related narratives as requested; Drafting policy position papers, correspondence, and briefing material, including designing and conducting research on complex policy issues to develop recommendations as a part of the policy development process; Drafting and reviews testimony to state and federal legislative committees and ensuring that policy positions taken are consistent with established or proposed policies of the administration; and Coordinating the development of the agency's comments on federal and state rule-makings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Three years as an Executive Policy Specialist 2; or Five years or more of policy analysis and planning experience; or A master's degree in policy analysis and planning, administration, or a closely related field; and two years of policy analysis and planning experience; or A Juris Doctor degree and two years of policy analysis and planning experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
