The Department of Health is seeking an Environmental Health Program Manager, DOH to serve as the Director of the Division of Environmental Health Services within the Bureau of Community Health Systems. This position oversees the management, administration, and supervision of activities for the Public Bathing Place Program, organized camps, local health officer certification, training programs, and environmental health complaints and inquiries response. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will facilitate and lead changes to enhance the environmental health programs and practices through the development of consistent commonwealth-wide systems for program plans, protocols, and databases. You will also have an opportunity to offer substantive input to the bureau director towards the establishment of program policies, standards, methods of implementation, and program evaluation for the public bathing places, organized camps, local health officers, and environmental health issues. In addition, you will represent the Bureau of Community Health Systems on various committees, task forces, and work teams to communicate and coordinate the Department of Health, bureau, and program policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 4 days a week. You will be required to report in office one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of professional environmental protection or environmental health program experience; and a bachelor's degree in a natural, physical, chemical, or biological science, or a closely related field; or Four years of professional environmental protection or environmental health program experience; and a master's degree in a natural, physical, chemical, or biological science, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. This position requires, within one year of hire, certification as a Certified Pool Operator.
