DESCRIPTION OF WORK From making state government work for Pennsylvanians, to creating economic opportunities for all, to making Pennsylvania communities safer - our office leads the Governor's communication strategy and tells the story of the Shapiro Administration. You will receive experience in all areas of communications and media relations including helping track media inquiries, monitoring news coverage, and writing media advisories and press releases. There will be time and space to develop expertise within our internal departments that will set you up for success in your communications career!

Work Schedule and Additional Information: This is a part-time internship from August 2024 through December 2024. Work hours are 20 hours per week and flexible within the hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch period. You will work 20-hours per week. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program; and Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher); and Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirements: You must be currently studying or graduated with a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, government, English, public policy, political science, journalism, or a similar major or degree program. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
