Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Clerical Assistant 2 (Temporary Tax Season) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

THE POSITION

Are you interested in full-time, seasonal employment? The Department of Revenue is seeking Clerical Assistant 2's for our Seasonal Tax Service Program. We are looking for motivated individuals with exceptional work ethic to join our team. You will have the opportunity to perform clerical duties to ensure efficiency of daily operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will be is responsible for performing routine clerical duties such as mail processing, scanning, and data entry. Work will involve the processing of tax documents received by the Bureau of Imaging and Document Management. Daily operations will include lifting and carrying trays of mail, sorting tax returns according to tax type or form type, as well as comparing and verifying information on checks and returns. You will be expected to:

  • Stand/lift for extended periods of time
  • Proficiently navigate a PC/applications
  • Stand and operate mail opening machines
  • Stand and operate document scanning machines

*Work Schedule and Additional Information: *

  • Full-time, seasonal employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:* *In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • *Note: *Free Parking available at the Brookwood Street Facility.
  • Positions are only available in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
  • This program runs from approximately January through June.
  • These positions supplement the permanent workforce and have the potential to lead to permanent, full-time employment.

     

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Able to stand/lift for extended periods of time.
  • Able to proficiently navigate a PC/applications.
  • Able to stand and operate mail opening machines.
  • Able to stand and operate document scanning machines.
