DESCRIPTION OF WORK As Chief Counsel, you will serve as the primary legal advisor to the executive director and commissioners of PHRC. Work involves preparing written and oral opinions on complex legal issues, reviewing proposed legislation, litigating cases in various courts and administrative settings, reviewing contracts, and providing collective bargaining and other personnel-related advice.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, currently licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, and must maintain licensure on a continuous basis during employment.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience advocating for the Commonwealth in court Experience reviewing, preparing, and negotiating contracts Experience trying cases, advising and writing opinions, interpreting the law, and making recommendations and appraisals Supervisory experience Public speaking experience Strategic planning development experience Experience with complex legal cases Experience representing an entity in court, both appellate and original jurisdiction matters, and in state and federal administrative proceedings
