The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is seeking a Basic Education Associate 2 to join our dedicated team. This is an advanced professional education lead worker role with responsibility to develop, research, and evaluate leadership professional development programs and resources, most specifically to the role of a Pennsylvania Administrator. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Basic Education Associate 2 administers professional development programs for school administrators that address leadership development, including the Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Program. Work includes leading the development and administration of resources PDE provides to schools, for the purpose of leadership development, including web applications, quarterly newsletter, forums, and training materials. You will have the opportunity to evaluate course enrollment throughout the year, adding courses when needed and canceling/combining courses when enrollment is low. This position plans and conducts professional development across the state regarding the sharing of best practice related to leadership development and principal evaluation systems; including the coordination with other partners (in and out of state) to further provide technical assistance and supports to schools, districts, Intermediate Units, and others. This also includes providing direct support to the team managing PDE's annual SAS Institute conference.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 1 day a week in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Position involves travel. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Basic Education Associate l; or Five years of professional experience in the field of education; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires a valid and active Administrative Certificate. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
